coolant leak

I got my truck all ready for the road and I had to replace the heater core I did that and now I can't keep my overflow full evrytime I park my truck it has a good amount of coolant under it. Top of the engine is dry but all around the water pump is soaked.the radiator is full and truck doesn't overheat just not sure what I should start to replace

My first guess is going to be the water pump, probably around the weep hole.

Is this a diesel or gas engine?

If its diesel, the gasket around the timing cover doesn't affect coolant.

I would suspect that that gasket doesnt affect coolant either. I cant think of a reason why there would be coolant behind a timing cover.

If I recall correctly on the 5.2L engines there are passage through the timing cover for coolant (Timing cover bolts to front of engine, water pump bolts to timing cover, gaskets on both sides). Probably best to start with pulling the water pump to replace that gasket, then be ready to do timing cover too, once you get the water pump off it'll be easier to see where your leak is.
