Running board lights
« on: May 17, 2015, 10:58:05 pm »
I have a 1998 Quad Cab 2500. I want to put LED lights under the cab for my running boards. I can't find any plugs under the cab. Does anyone know where I can tie into the interior cab light? So when I unlock/lock with the remote the running board lights go on and off with the interior cab light.

you could tap off the fuse box under the hood.  No idea on what wires. check a Haynes Manual

I just did this for steps I mounted on mine, and I tapped off of the yellow and gray wires that feed the map lights in the overhead console. Yellow wire is negative, grey is positive. Works great for me on my 96 Ram 1500

Doing it this way allows for the lights to be on whenever the door is opened. I think this is what you are after if I am not mistaken.
