Which Travel Trailers should I avoid?
« on: October 01, 2015, 04:54:24 pm »
I'm looking for a used travel trailer and have noticed that some of them are just pure junk.  What are some good quality brand names?  It seems that Jayco and Dutchmen are good brand names, but I'm not sure.

There seems to be a ton of 2005-2008 models for sale.  Are people just unloading them because they are starting to fall apart?

All of my horses and horse trailers are gone and RVs seem to be a different world.  Any help appreciated.

Hey Bob...

Like a used car...best to get a used RV thoroughly inspected. May cost you a few hundred dollars up front, but will be worth it. Also depends on what you are going to do with it. Tow a few thousand miles a year or sit as a hunting cabin.

Check for leaks, all the appliances work, some say tires older than 6-7 years need to be replaced, brakes, bearings, etc...

Thanks for the reply.  We bought a used one from a reputable dealer and they fixed all the little minor things we pointed out and then some.  It was pouring down rain hard for 2 hours straight when we looked at it and there were no leaks.  I think we got a good one.  2008 Keystone Hornet.
