NV5600 external cooler tips ?
« on: July 12, 2017, 12:05:15 am »
Hello ... I'm putting together an 'external cooling system' for my '04.5's NV5600.  Will have an 12V pump, filter, cooler w/ fan, plumbed from/to ports on my FastCoolers.  Running here in the desert (pulling 30' trailer) the 5600 temps reach 220-240 F (5th gear,60mph).  Running Redline oil, so that saves my 5600 some (good to 300F)

Is there anyone on this forum that has done this ?   tips  ?   suggestions  ?  Thanks in advance for your advice !

Regards,
LG

You can get aftermarket coolers for the 5600 that bolt in place of the PTO covers. They also increase the capacity by about a quart. No pump needed.

1. pt. of draw
2. to procrastinate on and talk about the need to upgrade stock parts while operating said parts to beyond the point of failure
