Lowering kits
« on: September 20, 2017, 12:53:12 pm »
I have a 2017 2500 4x4. I am thinking of lowering it some. Are there "kits" available to do so? I remember hearing/reading of kits to even trucks out.

Usually the leveling kit would lift the front 2 inches.   But if you wanted to go lower, my guess is you'd have to lose a spring or 2 in back...but that would affect the payload.  Not sure how they lower 4x4's

According to Geno's garage, there are no lowering kits, or none that they no of for 4x4's. The only recommendation they had were to either cut the springs, swap for shorter springs or get custom springs.

Put the springs on the bottom of the axel instead of them being in top. That is a sure way to subtract 3 inches.

Yea, go-ahead and frame that statement. ;-p

As far as the front, shorter springs is all I can think of, however you have to look at the track bar as it will push the front axel to one side if you go too far.

The rear springs are coils too, unless you got the air ride suspension. So new springs would be the only lowering option.
