It's BLLLUUUUUUUUEEEEEE
« on: January 06, 2018, 09:44:01 pm »
I've been in the Dak for ever.  Good little truck it was.  But it was time to pass it on.

Dang sales gal screwed me all up though. I was all set - knew exactly what I wanted - just needed to kick the tires & take it home. But but but then something happen I never expected.  A Dealership ordered a manual transmission ...  They don't do that anymore!  I hadn't even considered it as I don't like to wait for things so special order isn't for me  :whistling: but they had one (ok they had 3 but only 1 blue one).

So after pondering that ... I brought it home

2018 Jeep Compass Latitude 4x4

The 2.4l is impressively peppy!
The 6 speed manual (c636) is surprisingly smooth.
Might be weird not to have a spare tire ~ but there is room if I decide I must.
With only 1K tow rating I didn't even bother with the tow package...It's been more than 4 years since I put anything behind the Dak; doubt I'll miss it.

List of cosmetic accessories is being compiled at this time.  I'll wait for the license plate before I actually start throwing money at it

It's so much fun to drive!

Was starting to get irritated because Android Auto wouldn't connect.  The Dak was dumb... didn't even have bluetooth in it.  Yes my life is dictated by tech but I never forced it into the Dak.  So new toys new things to play with... heck why not right.  But the thing wouldn't connect.  Finally figured it out.  For work I use my device for demo's via my PC of company software ~ application used requires USB debug mode be enabled.  With Android Auto if USB debug is enabled...it no worky.

The auto parking break thing is kinda nice actually.  Gets me from time to time when I'm on a hill & don't need to use the throttle to move.

First tank Lie-O-Meter said: 25.6 -- Hand Calc: 24.9: Was running back and for to Seattle during off hours so mostly highway.  But happy it was close at least.  We'll see how it lines up after a few more.
