Mahindra Jeep
« on: September 16, 2020, 12:52:08 am »
In my failed attempt to revive this place from the space between the seats, another post that nobody will see.

Hard work indeed does pay off, and I found the ability to buy something new again.

In August my wife and I bought a brand new 2020 Mahindra Roxor. Aka, better than a jeep. For those who don't know, Mahindra has been building jeeps since the late 40s, originally granted contract by Willy's.

Fast forward 82 years, and they're in the sxs market. It's no sxs though... all steel. Dana 44 clones, 2.4L CRTD, cast iron 5 speed manual transmission and cast iron Dana/Spicer 18 clone.

Much like the Ram that I sold 5 years ago that originally brought me to this place in 2008, I cannot keep it stock. Before we took delivery of it, we spend a fair amount of pennies on some Custom PRP seats for the kids, a marine grade vinyl top that still hasn't arrived, extended the ROPS with some 1.75 x .120 DOM for the safety of my daughters, and a set of powdercoated wheels that will be wrapped in 33x10.50x15 BFG KM3's come this weekend. A few weeks ago, I retrofitted a Jeep YJ windshield to it. Also has a small shackle lift that isn't high enough to clear 33s without rubbing, so a longer leaf spring setup is in the works. It's street legal now, I put together my own turn signal setup.

We only have just over 150 miles on this thing, but all but maybe 12 miles is in dirt. I am loving this thing. At 55 mph, (max speed) I can have a normal conversation with my wife without shouting like you do in a CVT equipped sxs.
