Towed with the new truck

I finally had a chance to pull a trailer with my new truck.  I pulled a 16ft tandem axle trailer about half full of firewood.  I have no idea how much it weighed, but I pulled it with my old 2500 CTD before so I had a good comparison.  I was pleasantly surprised at how the hemi pulled.  I really like the 5 speed auto which lets you lock out 5th or 4th and 5th gear.  Really handy for towing.  It was mostly highway driving and I pulled it 250 miles at 65 - 70 mph.  I averaged 10.9 mpg (not as good as the CTD would do, but not too bad).  Overall I was really happy.  At highway speeds I really couldn't even tell the trailer was back there.  This truck pulls better than any other 1/2 ton I've owned hands down.

Sucks you don't have the diesel any more, but sounds like the new truck will do what you need.

Yea, I really didn't need a CTD, but I really liked having one.  The 1500 is much smoother and quieter, but I still find myself missing that CTD sound.
