2000. 2500 Ram Van

What does it take to pull the motor in one. It's a 360cid. I have a chanch to buy one. The body is in real good shape

Book time is 18.2 hours to R & R including swapping components (for a long block)

You're gonna have to pull the front end of the truck off (hood, grill, core support, front bumper, radiator, a/c condenser, lower valance, etc)

I've done them in Fords, and they're not as bad as you would think

The hardest part is the lack of space above the engine for a chain sling.  Having access to the rear of the engine thru the cover is a nice feature when you're pulling an engine

Thanks Kilch  I'm looking at maybe buying the Van I can get it for cheap. $600.00 for a motor out of a junkyard with 100,000 miles on it. He said it has NO compression on #3 cyl, his mech. said it might be a burnt or stuck valve. It want's to die at a stop sign unless you put in neutral and keep the rpm's up.

that's a bunch of miles on a gasser - see if you can  negotiate  that price - Any idea what kind of fun you'll be inhereting with that motor?

Not Really !! Haven't made my mind yet. I can get the van for $400.00
But I have no need for the van just thought I might be able to turn it and sell for 2000.00 but I don't know if it is worth it

But, sometimes those challenges are worth it, just for the work
