automotive emblem glue?

anyone have any good tips about gettin the glue from behind the emblems off. i have gasket remover which says it removes adhesives but also removes paint ::?:

that was a good video. i've got a friend that use to work at a body shop and he told me about the fishing line but i couldn't seem to get a hold of him for the adhesive remover

making some progress but i ran out of adhesive remover so i gotta go buy more now

Go buy the 3M adhesive remover.  It's the best stuff.  All the rest only partially work.  After all the work I went through doing two trucks I sooooo wish I'd bought the right stuff.

i can't seem to find it anywhere. none of the automotive stores and none of the hardware stores its all goof off everywhere

Goo Gone or Mineral Spirits (lighter fluid) will work.  May take a little longer, but that what I have used many times.  What ever you do don't use brake fluid or naptha...

At my dad's body shop they used a product called Speedy 500 for years, but we can't get here in socal anymore!!
95 12v 4x4 auto K&N drop in. 4 inch turbo back MBRP exhaust, Garmon trans, 4k gsk, 140 injectors, fully modded afc, pump timed, delivery valves, custom ground fuel plate, Phatshaft 62. And a very large list of to do's.

a guy on the fire department told me about this stuff at a local paint shop and he swears by it. he said it took him 10mins. to get all the glue off of the metal strip that chevy put on the tailgates of their older trucks.

got it all off finally and tehn i took the stickers off the tailgate and it don't look half bad. theres just a little outline around where the emblems use to be but its only noticable if your lookin at it so i don't mind.

yep...and i might be getting another tail gate from another old forest service truck that doesn't have those scratches in it

Make sure you check/replace the cables - that's what causes those scratches - when the tailgate falls into the bumper

Yep - looks good de-badged!

I'm doing mine right now - even with the 3M remover, I've got sore fingers!
