What a rush
« on: July 13, 2008, 09:24:59 pm »
Just did my first charity ride.  Wow what fun!!!  There is something different about riding with THAT many bikes.

The ride was for the Ft. Lewis Fisher House and I wont lie I was riding w/ ghosts.  Back in 99 the fisher House at Sam Houston helped me out while Simon was in surgery.  So I was really glad he wasn't right next to me most of the ride.  It was a beautiful day and for the most part the cages got out of our way and just let us ride. :)

About two miles before the turn around exit the head of the group pasted us going the other direction.  I wasn't even at the end either; when I made the turn the rest of the group was still coming   It was a great turn out and I really hope the Fisher House got a good donation from today.

We had the State Patrol, State DOT, and city cops.  :)

It was cool having a lane of the free way blocked so we could merge on :punk:

Big bike ride can be cool, and suck at the same time. I've been riding for years, yet i still get nervous at the toy runs. Some of those rookies and even experienced people just don't know how to ride in groups. You get two guy's colliding in the front, and it can wipe out 10+ bikes easliy.

Sucks ..

Glad to hear that everything went well for you though !!

Rich are you trying to say that 53 ci isn't big enough to be called a motor????   comme onnnn  dare ya...call it a girl bike...see what happens :P

We did have more than a few slinky moments when cars were moving in an out of the group and the group would try to catch back up to the next person.  I expected that though. Figured it would be kind of like a BDE run. :D

Naaaaaaah, I'm not saying that.....

I'm just saying that, well, ya know, a 4.7 doesn't belong in a 2500 / 3500.
