Windshield Wipers
« on: August 13, 2009, 08:50:11 pm »
OK

So my windshield wipers are acting up. They dont work when you try to put them on any of the intermediate options, they only come on when you switch it all the way back to either low or high.... So what I'm wonderin is... Is it my windshield wiper motor? or just the switch itself?

I'm guessing your motor.  I had a saturn that started out that way, then it only worked on high, then it didn't work at all.  I replaced the motor and all was well.  I'd check junk yards first for a motor.  I saved $70 by getting a used one.

I am gonna guess either multifunction switch or the central timer module...

My Jeep did this.  After putting up with it for awhile, I did some research and found that the timer module goes bad.  After locating mine (drivers side kick panel, might be similar for the Rams), I opened it up and found a burnt out bridge on the circuit board.  Took a strand of copper and layed some solder over it and my wipers work like new.
