that thing is actually pretty amazing. its a 1.8 ltr axial sleeve diesel that produces 306 hp out of just 1.8 ltrs at 1500 rpm. its also two stroke. the torque numbers are 2200 nm which i dont know how to convert but would guess its still pretty high considering what the engine is designed for, makin serious torque. its kind of like a rotary but a tad different. check out that site on the video and itll tell all about it. pretty interesting. I WANT ONE! good find nick :2guns:

I knew someone here would know more about it. Now just link 2 of them together and have them firing in opposing order to cancel vibrations and you'd be rockin!

BTW, 2200nm = 1623 lb/ft of torque!

That is a sweet machine. It is simple and evidently effective if the numbers above are correct. I bet it is super efficient too.

2-stroke? Guess that leaves Cali. drivers out of the pic.  Pretty neat piece of engineering.

pretty small too, they're talking it could replace the current diesel engine, i expect you'll start seeing it in construction equipment first probly. but still many years from actually seeing that unless they start making leaps in the research

im very much intrigued by it. im gonna have to try and keep an ear down for advancements

More than likely what you'd see it in first is stationary power / pumping equipment.

I can see that being useful for gen sets, water pumps, etc., but it needs a lot of work before that thing would ever see the road.

All those rotating, exposed parts would be a lawsuit waiting to happen.
