the Lo-N-Slo thread
« on: October 02, 2009, 12:08:27 am »
well, imma put all the pics and progress of my golf cart in here. try to stay organized...lol

here she starts out...

today i managed to get the stripped coupler off the motor

you can see, i cut it as far down as possible with the cut-off, it still fought me, so i ran a drill down to the other end and then it started to cooperate with mister sledge and miss chisel punch....

and this is the input shaft that the coupler is supposed to protect
(softer metal so the coupler strips before the shaft, its a 100$ savings)

i ordered a new input shaft and i'll let yall know when its back in

so the plans are simple as is,

STAGE 1
48V upgrade from the stock 36v,
onboard charger so i dont need to haul around a separate one to plug in,
the bag rack was cut off but they left stubs so im gonna cut them flush with the seat back and cap weld the ends,
strip the rust from underneath and use a chemical resistant coating/paint
then some semi-aggressive turf tires on black 8" wheels.

rock that over winter, drive it around at work,

STAGE 2
Over winter im gonna stash some moneys away and get some chrome 12" wheels and lo-pro tires for summer bling
paint job (not sure what yet)

its all getting done without splurging too much so i can still get my truck rear susp. done come spring
summer is gonna be all about the truck and school, hopefully i'll be moving up in the world with a real job soon.
then who knows how crazy i can get.. BWAHAHAHA

the tires are bald, almost wearing through in a couple spots, no good for winter driving lol
and i am gonna paint the stock wheels black
but trying to find the tires i want in the size... thats tricky lol im gonna hafta settle for turf tires, but they're the same tread design we have on the cushmans so i know they'll do well enough
or get some atv grabbers lol

Would be like putting a cummins in a dak! A little heavy, but the torque is amazing!  :43:
