A few vids of my truck
« on: October 29, 2009, 05:37:03 pm »
I was bored this morning and was looking around youtube at some truck vids and decided to make a few of my own, lol...

I was wondering what my exahust sounded like outside the cab so I took this one...

Then after letting it warm up a little more (~10 minutes later) I took this one, but also cranked the Banks up to level 7 (highest level) and wanted to see if it would smoke, there was a little...  ;)

Then I wanted to hear the truck as I drove away, but you know me I couldn't just drive away nicely...  ;D
As I pulled the truck out there my neighbor from the other side of the street pulled his Prius out onto the street, so I decided to take of strong and see if it would blow smoke at the Prius, the answer, well watch the clip...

Those videos really make me miss my truck.   :baby:

Your truck is sick.  Do those tires howl quite a bit?  It kind of sounded like they do.

yeah they do, it was cool at first, but if you ever get above 40 MPH they are really loud. I have a vid from test driving it after removing the air silencer and messing with it yesterday where you can hear the tires whenever I get up to or around 40 MPH, at HWY speeds you can't hear anything else, lol...

One of the things I hate about YouTube, some yahoo's that just need to comment on crap. If either of these guys are on here, let me set the record straight. I know the Banks 6 gun isn't the best tuner out there, but don't give someone crap because they are using one, in my case it was on the truck from the previous owner and I got it for free, so why not use it???

Here's a hint: when you post the video you can set it so they can't comment

yeah you can change that at any time too, but it looks a little bad if you do that after people have already started commenting...

I really haven't seen much of any 'Banks bashing' here, but I've seen it on DF and CF. Don't have anything against them, there products are good. For the longest time they were the only game in town so to speak. Me personally I've never run there programmers so don't know much about them. An engineer at my shop has installed just about everything Banks makes at his Superduty and he loves it, and looking/watching his truck it seems to run out real nice.  The owner of my local Dodge dealer has a mega with complete Banks system and it's a bad azz truck.  :punk: I was thinking of the Banks exhaust when I got my truck, but when I heard his mega I didn't care for the tone of the exhaust. Doesn't mean it didn't work though. I have run a Banks trans command on the powerstroke I used to have and it worked better than described. The only real downside I see in Banks products is they are on the pricey side compared to others.

2005 QC Dually 2wd CTD 6-spd. SRT-6, AEM Brute Force intake, Smarty Sr., D.O.F. shift knob, 5" to dual side exit 4" exhaust, Quad Scout, road kill kat, 2011 Coachmen North Ridge fifth wheel

I MAY BE OLD, BUT I GOT TO SEE ALL THE GOOD BANDS.....

Yeah, the only issue with Banks stuff is they don't go all out on thier tunes. But what they have is great for some, while others just think it's not enough. Banks has a lot of safety built in and detunes automatically if EGT's get too high and etc, plus they hae a no smoke policy and do what they can to make power without smoke. So there are the heavy smokers that bash the banks stuff, and that was pretty much what was going on on YouTube, I got comments like

HAHAHA LOL you call that blowing smoke??? throw that POS banks tuner in the trash can and get a real tune
You took the words right out of my mouth yo.banks shit sucks.

Yea - those folks are like flies on dog poop (it's inevitable)

You won't see that kind of stuff here though!  That's what's nice here

I still think it's a nice ride!

You'll like the lack of smoke when you don't have to scrape soot off the side of your trailer too!

It all depends on what you're looking for.

For the everyday driver, tow rig, guy that wants a little more snot for the daily commute, Banks is fine......it's just pricey.

For the person looking for all out performance, Banks doesn't hold a candle.

It's all in what you have intended for the truck.
