OK we all know I don't put that many miles on the Dak. It really has become neglected & ignored over the last few years. If it wasn't for the stupid ding and dashboard message I'd forget to change the oil. I admit this!
Last week I get in the truck & drive it home ... turn a corner and 'thunk' ..
Go over a bump and 'thud'
No .. just no... my rear end can't be broken it doesn't even have 50k on it. Next day when there is sunshine go crawl around.
-nothing loose in the bed
-tailgates closed right
-shock mounts tight
-no slack in drive line
-exhaust is tight: no holes this time
not finding anything loose or wiggly when on the ground.
OK maybe I just imagined it. Nope -- not imagining it. Over the week randomly...VERY randomly.. thunks & thuds and weird scraping sounds coming from the rear passenger side.
Finally last night I cleaned out the truck -- you do know those bins in the door are trash cans right

put a pair of scissors in the back-seat passenger door pocket??? They were juuuuusstt long enough to dig the tip in and kick up then THUD when they slipped free.
No more thunks!
