I'm from the Fort Lauderdale area, originally! In fact I'll be driving home around Christmas time..

I lived in Tamarac off Commercial Blvd. near the Turnpike for a while & worked in Pompano.

Seriously??? I grew up in Coral Springs, on Rock Island between Wiles and Sample (by the high school). My grandparents were in Sunrise and our temple was in Tamarac. Small world!
Why yes, I do drive a 2009 MINI Cooper S.

I am definitely a Smidget**

Yup, me and a buddy were living in a 55+ community ( ;D ) just over the turnpike. I worked off 95 near Copans & Military Trail.

As soon as we got there he went and bought a membership at Trapeze. :43:

I'll be at Hunter...Active Duty

Well, thanks to Ft. Hood bending me over one last time, I won't be going to the unit I wanted to at Savannah...But I'll still be coming to the area...Heading to Ft. Rucker, AL in Dec.

I did...I guess I'll just tell you all....

So, before I left Fort Hood I read in my orders that a Gov't Travel card was required.  Trying to be proactive, I contacted the III Corps Travel card guy and got all the information I needed, while filling out my Application I was talking to the guy to make sure I was filling it out correctly.  There's a choice on the application about whether or not you want them to do a credit check.  He tells me to select that I do want a credit check, so I do....A couple days before I'm supposed to leave on TDY, still no card, I call the guy and he tells me that I was declined, but don't worry I can reapply when I get to Ft. Campbell...

I get to Campbell and start Admin week of EGP, fill out another application and check that I don't want the credit check ( the difference in limits wasn't a really big deal it turns out).  Everyone starts receiving their cards in the mail, except for me.  I start asking around and find out that I was declined again because once you've been declined, you have to wait 24 months to reapply.  So, in the process I find out I'm being dropped from class and reassigned "Needs of the Army".

No Gov't CC = No TDY = No 160th....

I'm pretty pissed about it to say the least, but I think I've decided to go the Warrant officer route now anyway...

What the f'k dude. You aught to have somebody go kick the Hood TDY travel card guy in the nuts. I hope the WOC thing goes good. Hurry up with that packet. Do you have any of our pilots at Rucker than can maybe pull some strings and feed the packet through?
