I used my phone so the pics are not great. I do not believe i left a step out.
This is a 2 hour job and is very easy.
Tools Needed
T45 torx bit
C-clamp
Flat blade screw driver
2 zip ties
Stiff piece of metal wire (I used a coat hanger)
Brake Cleaner
Gloves
Parts
2 new rotors
4 new brake pads
1) Remove the tire
2) Remove the 2 torx bolts on the back of the caliper.
3) Use a flat bladed screw driver to pry up and remove this bracket
4) Use a piece of wire to make a hanging point for the caliper
5) Pull the caliper up and put and zip tie through the top bolt hole
6) Hand the caliper from the wire making sure that the wire and zip tie is supporting the weight and not the brake line.
7) Remove the old rotor by sliding it off of the studs.
Remove the inside brake pad by sliding it towards you.
9) Remove the outside brake pad by pushing it towards the truck and slide it off.
10) Remove the top to the brake reservoir.
11) Use a c-clamp to compress the caliper piston
12) Clean the rotor with a good brake cleaner to get the protective film off.
13) I recommend putting on clean gloves so you do not get grease on the brake pads or rotors
14) Install the new brake pads making sure the outside pads are fully on with the two protruding tads in the holes on the calipers.
15) Slide the clean new rotor onto the wheel studs.
16) Cut the zip tie holding the caliper and replace the caliper onto its mounts
17) Bolt the caliper back on with the 2 torx bolts.
18) Reinstall the metal retainer clip removed in step 3.
19) Reinstall the tire
20) Repeat this on the other side.
21) Reinstall the top to the brake fluid reservoir.
