Cummins Diesel Trucks / Re: Turbo rebuild or upgrade
« Last post by Mitch on September 22, 2020, 10:43:31 pm »
New turbo. An S300 is only a couple hundred bucks more than  rebuild. I had my old turbo rebuilt by Work Turbochargers, and it was $500 plus shipping. On my 57 chevy, the S363 was about $850ish from Work Turbochargers on a black Friday deal about 3 years ago.

Cummins Diesel Trucks / Turbo rebuild or upgrade
« Last post by Dallas192 on September 16, 2020, 01:50:25 pm »
Hey everyone. Haven't been on in a long time question. Rebuild the turbo or should I upgrade it and to what?  99ctd quad cab 4x4 auto. Been having a problem with it building boost then no boost. I think its the valve in the housing hanging up but no sure.  Anyways. Truck is a daily driver and a couple of times a year as a tow vehicle for under 10k trailer. Truck is all stock except for an Edge with attitude. Trans has been rebuilt with good stuff but no bullet shifts. Also has a Patc triple disc converter.   whats everyone's opinions.   thanks

Powersports and Bed Toys / Mahindra Jeep
« Last post by Mitch on September 16, 2020, 12:52:08 am »
In my failed attempt to revive this place from the space between the seats, another post that nobody will see.

Hard work indeed does pay off, and I found the ability to buy something new again.

In August my wife and I bought a brand new 2020 Mahindra Roxor. Aka, better than a jeep. For those who don't know, Mahindra has been building jeeps since the late 40s, originally granted contract by Willy's.

Fast forward 82 years, and they're in the sxs market. It's no sxs though... all steel. Dana 44 clones, 2.4L CRTD, cast iron 5 speed manual transmission and cast iron Dana/Spicer 18 clone.

Much like the Ram that I sold 5 years ago that originally brought me to this place in 2008, I cannot keep it stock. Before we took delivery of it, we spend a fair amount of pennies on some Custom PRP seats for the kids, a marine grade vinyl top that still hasn't arrived, extended the ROPS with some 1.75 x .120 DOM for the safety of my daughters, and a set of powdercoated wheels that will be wrapped in 33x10.50x15 BFG KM3's come this weekend. A few weeks ago, I retrofitted a Jeep YJ windshield to it. Also has a small shackle lift that isn't high enough to clear 33s without rubbing, so a longer leaf spring setup is in the works. It's street legal now, I put together my own turn signal setup.

We only have just over 150 miles on this thing, but all but maybe 12 miles is in dirt. I am loving this thing. At 55 mph, (max speed) I can have a normal conversation with my wife without shouting like you do in a CVT equipped sxs.

4th Gen Rams / Re: Morimoto LED headlights for 4th gen Rams
« Last post by Simplesimon on September 09, 2019, 03:51:20 pm »

Has anyone taken a look at the new Morimoto LED headlights soon to be available for the 4th gen Rams. They look awesome, very similar to the ones on the top of the line 5th gen Rams. Not cheap at all, and won’t be available till end of the month or early 2019, but I am seriously considering them.

The quad reflectors I have on my truck are useless on dark roads, and I don’t want to be that guy that sticks LED bulbs or an HID kit in a reflector housing. I’ve considered converting to the OEM projector lights but I’ve heard they aren’t a huge improvement over the quads.

So far there’s only a few videos and photos of prototypes out there but I really like what I see.

Very kind of you, unfortunally i cant answer your question.

Challenger / 2010 SRT8
« Last post by Macgomes on June 29, 2019, 11:00:31 am »
Hello everyone,,,
I am going to go look at a 2010 SRT8 later today, I've been deciding between a 2015 or newer RT but then realized that the the older SRT8s are running around the same price and you can find them in low miles. Any suggestions to someone deciding between the newer RT and an older SRT8? The car I am looking at does not have a back up camera and it is something I would like to add if possible.

2nd Gen Rams / Just bought a Dodge..
« Last post by Martin77 on June 24, 2019, 02:04:00 pm »
Hey all, sorry if this sort of thing isn't allowed, just figured this would be the best place to post and ask for advice.

I recently purchased a 2011 Avenger Mainstreet (the 2.4L 4Cyl Model) and was wondering if anyone in the community had advice about either the car, or Dodge vehicles in general? I've heard Mopar transmissions aren't that great, but otherwise nothing but positive things.

Also, I'm looking to do some work on it performance wise, not necessarily to gain power but to familiarize myself with the car and it's components, so if anyone can recommend some simple DIY mods to perform that don't cost a ton of money that would be great as well

Thanks!

3rd Gen Rams / 3rd-gen Ram buying guide
« Last post by JackJohn77 on June 21, 2019, 10:02:24 am »
I am looking into getting a 3rd gen ram (1500 or 2500) and wanted to get some input on what to look for. My pops had an 04 2500 for a long time so I know about the surface rust problems on the rocker panels and wheel wells but he has well over 200,000 miles on it without anything major going out on it. So I guess my question is did he just luck out or are there things to look out for in this year range? Most of the trucks I am looking at in this price range have less than 100,000 miles, but there are some good deals on trucks with just about 150,000 and will save a couple grand. Would any of you go through with buying a 150,00 mile 3rd gen?

Hey guys so long story short ive been a car guy most of my life (im 24) and im currently driving a lowered acura rsx witch was cool when i was 17 but the more i drive it and park it in the winter the more i hate it and im getting very bored with it, im currently in the process of selling it. now im looking to move into a truck. im stuck between a 2nd gen Ram and a 1999+ silverado. my dad has a 2001 silverado 5.3 so ive been around the silverado for a long time and to this day its still going strong with 330k miles, so that definitely gave me some inspiration to look for one of those but at the same time i really like the way the 2nd gen dodges can look. can you guys give me some insight on these trucks maybe give me some knowledge on what the pros and cons for the 2nd gen rams are? i would also love to get a diesel but at the same time i dont think id really need one even tho the diesel cool factor is there. im looking to spend around 5k i knows its pretty low but im not expecting something pristine im looking to fix it up paint it ect just like i did my car. so i guess my question overall is 2nd gen rams vs 1999+ silverados. what would be the better pick if for instance i liked them both cosmetically the same. forgot to add its going to be 4x4 i live in upstate NY and im looking to have some fun in the snow.
