Opening up shop
« on: July 09, 2009, 11:50:14 pm »
So I'm gonna apply for a business license and formally get things started.

I'm down to the two choices above.

Those of you that have been to my place, know the meaning behind Doghouse Diesel. My little phrase for that it, "You're gonna end up there, you might as well start here"

The name Tri-City Diesel is in reference to the Columbus, Phenix City, Ft Benning area. My phrase for that one would be, "Street, Race or Tow.....We'll make it go!"

What do you guys think?

Yeah, that was what I was thinking also.

Amy likes Doghouse better and I have kind of a cool idea for the picture.....

It's gonna be, obviously, a dog house that the entrance is blacked out with a set of eyeballs looking out......smoke is pouring out the back.....a woman's leg kicking the side of the doghouse......and a honey-do-list tacked to the front.

;D

Guess I'm in the minority, but I like Tri City Diesel better. To me, it just sounds more legit.

Glad to see that you're making the plunge. Are you going to work out of your house to begin with or open a shop up?

Congrats Buddy....I'm happy for ya!

For right now, it's so that I can at least get a business license, Tax ID and be able to apply it for dealing with suppliers and expenses.

There are a few places I've been looking at, but right now I'm just looking at being able to actually put a name out there and get things going.

I'm not so much looking at this as being an internet store, selling this and that, so much as I'm looking at it being a "Yeah, I can get it and, yeah, I can INSTALL IT."

I voted dog house as its a cool name. But they're right Tri-City sounds more business like. I guess I shyed away from Tri-City because almost every business around me is called 'Tri-City something or other. Since I live in the Bay City, Midland, Saginaw area. Up until a few years ago even the airport was called Tri-City airport (now its called MBS International Airport). Everyone still calls it Tri-City though. Nothing changed but the name and the amount of taxes they take out for it.  :taz: Alabama is along way to go for service but hell, I'm game! Good luck with your endevour.

Doghouse has more pizazz, but for a business I voted Tri-County. Congrats. Which one of us will be your first legit customer?

DOG HOUSE all the way! Tri city sounds like a hardware store. You need to have a little eccentricity to grab attention. You can dazzle people with your professional work and attitude, but to bring them in you need something to get their attention. The company I work for is a very conservatively run business. But we run some crazy advertising campaigns. This year our ads are SUMO TEC and we have a big ole sumo wrestler in all his diapered glory all over everything.

Congratulations, on the decision and best of luck on your new endeavor.
