Tinting of factory Lights
« on: July 27, 2009, 04:37:06 am »
ok so after the freeze plug ordeal and the wash and wax i decided to run to the local hobby shop and pick up some model car window tint... after going to get a 12 pack...lol Pulled the 2 screws on the inside of the bed on both sides and removed the tail lights... Cleaned them to remove all contaminants then spraying light coats of the tint on till you get desired blackout effect... then spray a clear coat over the tint and let dry... Ill get some pics tomorrow of how dark they really are...the cool part is the brake light is just as bright !!!

thats looks pretty good. how many coats is that? I think i will have to do this. I was originally wanting to get black recon lights but after hearing about the problems people have had with qc and the customer service i decided not to, and now with this i can get the same effect i wanted for hell cheap.

can you get a picture with your brakes applied just to see the effect it has for me?

thanks

Adam, those look killer brother!

The ONLY thing I might suggest, and this is just completely a personal preference here, is to maybe mask off the reverse lights for at least a coat or two so that you still have good reverse lights at night.

Again, just thinking out load. I know what a PITA it can be backing in with tinted windows and having a reverse light out.
