Clutch first?
« on: April 07, 2010, 10:03:18 pm »
I want to put a clutch masters stage 2 heavy duty kevlar backed clutch in the neon. i had an arguement with a coworker more power before clutch (his argument) or stronger clutch (and guages) before adding power (my arguement). if anyone knows how i drive that car i drive it hard ive been thru a trans and clutch already and the throwout bearring is going already on this clutch. i want a stronger clutch so i can add more power plus i polan on running in NSCRA this summer.... your ideas wanted guys!

imo, i think its better to go with suportive mods before power mods. even though i didnt follow my own rules.

I'd say clutch first.  If you add power, the stock clutch is only gonna last so long and you will have to upgrade it eventually anyway.

Cujo, you're so screwed now that your wife is here....

Belle, get the clutch.  the last thing you want is to upgrade and on your way to work, completely burn the clutch.

lol I do the same stuff...

I deffinatly say clutch, and I also agree with the control BEFORE the power. Now if something brakes then maybe an upgrade instead of a fix, power or not  :whistling:

Supporting mods first!

Power is no good if all it does is make heat.

Get the clutch.
