Attention 2006 3500 owners...
« on: July 16, 2009, 02:46:15 am »
You will be getting this letter soon.  I just got an early release of the info today...

Dear (Name):
This letter is to inform you that the warranty period on your truck’s turn signal multifunction switch has been extended to 10 year or 150,000 miles, which ever occurs first.
This turn signal multifunction switch extended warranty coverage applies only to certain 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 trucks.
We are extending the warranty period on your truck’s turn signal multifunction switch because of a
potential manufacturing process variation that may cause the turn signal, both interior and exterior,
to flash in the opposite direction from that selected by the operator. If your turn signal is operating
properly, there is nothing you are required to do. If your truck’s turn signal multifunction switch
fails with the 10 year or 150,000 mile period, simply contact your dealer to have repairs performed.

NOTE: This extended turn signal multifunction switch warranty does not
cover any other components.

If you have already experienced this turn signal opposite illumination condition and have paid to
have it repaired, you may send your original receipts and/or other adequate proof of payment to the
following address for reimbursement:
Chrysler Customer Assistance Center
P.O. Box 21-8004
Auburn Hills, MI 48321-8004
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this turn signal multifunction switch warranty,
which your dealer is unable to resolve, please contact Chrysler at 1-800-992-1997.
Please keep this letter with your vehicle’s other warranty information for future reference if
necessary.
Chrysler is taking this action to demonstrate its commitment to your continued satisfaction.

Had this problem happen to my 06 3500 this summer..  It really sucks when you are on vacation towing your trailer and it acts up.

I had an extended Dodge Wty already and received a reimbursement for my deductible in October with an apology letter.  Pretty descent as far as corporate response goes.
