The reason I say car or maybe a Dak is growing up I wasnt always into pickups and diesels.  But came my 16 birthday and I got my license and fell in love with this truck.

But growing up I always wanted like a Dodge Stealth, never knew why but that was what I wanted.  But I do know I will always have more power than looks, already told my girlfriend that and she agreed.

Aaron, sorry for hijacking thread but you know ya got some ideas what you could do if wanting to restore or build something up.

Yep, it has radius arms with a kinda weird split front axle deal, and coils...

My 393 2wd was the same way (minus the front axles), my dads 94 is the same way , and my brothers 94 explorer was the same.

I've never seen a ford with torsion bars? My 06 expedition, 02 explorer, 97 f250 were all coils.

The only thing I can think of with torsion bars off the top of my head is 1500 silverado (the 2000 body style)?

If you run out of ideas for mods for your Ranger ... here is another Ford Ranger Kubota Conversion project idea.

That is a pretty cool swap. Is there a story to go along with it somewhere?

Ford did put diesels in the ranger from the factory. '83's got a Mazda/Perkins diesel (59hp 90 torque). That was replaced with a Mitsubishi turbodiesel (86hp 134 torque). 1987 was the last year. So they are out there, just real rare and probably a little worse for wear.

You can get a Ranger Diesel still to this day ... just not in the US. A brand new Ranger in the UK comes with a Duratorq 2.5 TDCi engine.

But we dumb American's think diesel is dirty and it's not cost effective to bring to the US.

That TTB was a pretty good idea. It works well for pre runners. It sucks on road though.
