P0303 misfire code on warm engine start
« on: May 11, 2018, 05:59:30 am »
I am new to this forum and hoping to find some answers or suggestions to my issue.

I have a 2003 RAM 2500 4x4 QC 5.7 Hemi that wants to set the P0303 misfire when the truck is started after the engine is warm.  It will idle a bit rough just for a few seconds set the code and then smooth out and run great.

I have installed new plugs (Champions) along with new wires. I even swapped the coil packs between cylinders 1 and 3 to see if the problem would follow the coil and it did not.

There is no water in the oil and I am not losing any coolant.

The engine runs great and the idle can hardly be felt.

It's starting to point to a heat soak problem with maybe the cam position sensor or Crank sensor in my reasoning.

Has anyone had this problem and have any ideas or suggestions on what to look at and check?
