P2509
« on: September 22, 2008, 02:33:11 pm »
Had the first instance of an error light popping on this morning.  Fortunately, had the smarty with me to grab the code...

Getting a P2509 Powerdown Data Loss Error

Anyone got any insight?  Truck seems to be running fine despite whatever this is.

that code corresponds with a faulty ground to the ECM, Dead or dieing battery(s). I'm pretty sure Dave will have more insight to this one.

I had that code  the  first year I had my truck, they ended up replacing my ECM after months of BS. It started with a dead battery cell that ended up frying the ECM, they replaced all of the wiring harnesses had the truck for a month before they figured it out

I would check the batteries first. I just remembered that they were messing with my battery temp sensors at the very beginning, I hope this helps. you can go back in the other forum and pull my history I was talking with cumminalong on it I believe it started in December of 06 if not Jan of 07

I checked all the connections and cleaned the battery terminals.  Did get a little gunk off the terminals, but nothing major really.  Cleared the code and it's been a week now without coming back.  So, I'm hoping it was just something not making good contact.
