oh trust me, i am a big believer in that department!
i have had many situations where i have spent little on something to find out i should of just went big off the bat.
with my truck, im not sure where i will be going with it. i hope one day it will be all big and fast but the truth is... i might not ever see a truck pushing crazy horsepower. i try to keep that in mind as i buy parts for my truck, they are not the best investment on a vehicle that i should not even be driving according to the price on it and my living situation.
i know its only a few dollars extra for this purchase but by waiting till tomorrow for the S&B guy to get back with me, its my way of self control. this way my decision and spending is pretty much on the destiny of that guy writing back with an OK for the price i offered.
this may all sound crazy and in no way are my going against your words, its just my crazy way of spending

Hey Nick,
Lemme give ya a few words of advice. Take this for what it's worth.
BUY THE FRIGGIN PART YOU REALLY WANT, THE FIRST TIME!
Wanna know why? Cuz you'll just end up getting it later down the road and costing yourself more money.
Good advice, even outside the context of goodies for your truck. You try to go cheap on something, just ends up biting you in the ass, then you end up getting what you should have bought in the first place. Been there and done it.

From this statement along with a few others you've said I'm getting the impression that: You've wanted one for a long time, now have a few extra bucks in your pocket that could really be used for some other things but are finally deciding to get something you want and are leaving it up to someone else (S&B Guy) to make the final decision on it because your second guessing yourself.
I may be way off, and am not 'knocking' you in any way, but if you're having trouble making the decision to spend the extra $65...make sure you really want to be spending any money in the first place

Here's an idea ...
Save the money and take it to the track at the next meet and greet, and then you can place a bet as to what race it'll be that Kilch breaks his truck.
You could EASILY double your money !!

I didn't say that you couldn't fix it. All I'm saying is that Nick can place a bet on WHEN you'd be fixing it

i can see where you would get that from and i did take NO offense to that. its just hard to express my ways through a key board. i am the kind of guy that could have a million dollars put away and i will still spend as if i had 1000. your probably thinking "what a cheap azz" but i am only cheap on certain things, the essentials in life i do not cut corners on. this intake mod is not an essential in my book....

if you go back to the begining of this thread, i am putting most of the money away just leaving enough to spend on a little truck add on. i will call the rest of the money the "kiltch doubling fund" and ill save it for the exact day you speak of... a meet and greet at the track
lol...

your probably thinking "what a cheap azz"
NO WAY, not at all. I sometimes do that to myself and try to rationalize the same way, then later I begin to regret it.

Ported vs Non Ported is like $20
Don't give yourself the opportunity to say "Damn, wish I would have got the ported one"

i just received this in my e-mail....
"OK, I will accept $265.00. This would be shipped direct from S&B, they show it is available as of 3/15. "
oh well..... im still going to go with CFM!
and Donny, i have seen that price on ebay for the carbon fiber but it does not come with gaskets and studs. i know i could probably get them pretty cheap but i would feel safer just buying a complete set from the factory instead of piecing it together.
thanks for lookin out though brotha!
