« on: October 10, 2009, 04:30:46 am »
Very simply remove the old shaft and the carrier bearing mount, (btw there 15mm bolts) and set aside be carefull kinda heavy.

next open the huge box with the blue M on it.

wow!

look at the size difference

compared to the aluminum shaft

Then slip the new Shaft all the way in !!!! and re-install the four rear bolts with
blue loctite and torque to 55-60 ft pounds ( or just get em good and tight)

it is working really well, but i am a little concerned about the spline engagement so i am having a buddy of mine crank out a few spacers. for truck that want one of these and are running lift kits. so stay tunned if you are planning on purchasing one of these and are running a lift kit!

GREAT POST, THANKS.

I would like to go to a one piece driveshaft on my truck. I will certainly watch this thread for any updates.

BTW I have a 2006 MegaCab, handshaker, 4x4.  Guess I need to fill in my sig.

I have been searching for the right Mopar part number to do my Mega, I believe it is 52123162 AA WC.  I hope someone else had done this to a Mega and can verify the part number at some point in time.

Thanks for the reply.  I will post over where you suggested.  I am still trying to verify that part number, then getting one will be easier (I think).  I guess not too many have done this switch??  It seems to me to be the better alternative to what came stock, probably costs about the same when you have to rebuild the two shafts, and of course, still have the carrier bearing issues that go with the stock setup.
